The Alzheimer’s Association knows the stress of caregivers, families and the public impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Master’s level care consultants are available to help with issues faced everyday on a free 24/7 help line. Assistance provided could be education on issues, decision making, and community resources.

The Health and Wellness Ministry of Our Lady of Good Counsel

Mission Statement

The Health and Wellness Team is a group of Registered Nurses and other Health Care professionals who volunteer their time and talents to promote health within the entire parish. We are health care professionals called by God to a ministry of service rooted in Jesus Christ.

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

The Health and Wellness Team assesses the health needs of the parish, establishes appropriate programs to meet those needs, initiates the programs and evaluates the effectiveness of those programs.

The Health and Wellness Team maintains confidentiality. Anything shared with a team member will be kept within the Health and Wellness Team, unless the parishioner gives permission for it to be shared or discussed with others.

The Health and Wellness Team Can

  • Provide health education Coordinate volunteers
  • Act as informal counselors Be patient advocates
  • Act as a referral source

Send a note to the Rectory or put in the collection basket. If you include confidential information, please use an envelope and address it to the Health and Wellness Coordinator.

Contact a Health and Wellness Coordinator directly through a member of the clergy, Eucharistic Minister, Outreach Ministry, or Parish Partners.

If you are hospitalized, call or ask someone to call the Rectory and leave a message.

If you have an urgent need such as unexpected hospitalization, or sudden personal or family crisis, please call 215-357-1300 ext. 176 and ask for a Health and Wellness Coordinator to contact you as soon as possible.
